First Naked Walk of the Year!

Had the first naked walk of the year today, and its been a long time coming!

Andi had got the train east to visit her friend Marian in Berkshire so I was on my own for a few days, the sun was out and the thermometer in the garden said 18 degrees so I popped over to the beach between St Marys Well bay and Penarth for a quick naked walk. I parked up on St Marys Well bay road and cut down the short path to the beach in front of the caravan park. It was empty so I stripped off and walked across the beach, past the main access point on the eastern end and aroud the corner out onto the beach running towards lavernock point.

I stashed my bag with my clothes in it a hundred meters or so around the corner in the rocks and bushes at teh foot of the cliff and set off along the beach heading east. The beach was totally deserted and it was reasonably warm, although there was a bit of a cool breeze at times. I walked all the way to lavernock point intending to turn round and all back, but it was early in the afternoon, and buoyed up by the fact that it was warm and the beach was deserted i decided to walk round the point to see if the beach running to Penarth was OK.

I walked round lavernock point and could see that the beach all the way to Penarth was also empty so I decided to keep going. Walking naked around lavernock point can be a bit sketchy as there is an access path right at the point and one further round so there are often a few people down on teh beach, and sometimes fishermen down at the water, but today it was totally deserted!

I basically walked all the way along the beach towards Penarth until I got to the end of the concrete walkway which runs west from the Penarth town beach. Sometimes there are people sunbathing at the westernmost end of the walkway (and I once passed a couple here with the woman sunbathing naked), but today there was no one. At this point I was quite close to the town beach and pier at Penarth, It was great to know that I was about 4.5km away from my bag and clothes, and whilst it would have been fun to walk further along the walkway towards the pier I decided to turn back toward Llavernock. There was a dog walker down at the water edge around 100m towards the pier coming towards me – the first person I had seen on the walk. I set off and started to walk back westwards.

The walk back to lavernock point was great, empty beach, warm sun, beautiful scenery and the feel of the sun and the breeze on my naked body, and the commitment of needing to walk back to collect my clothes. Again I met no-one on the beach and again encountered no-on as I rounded Lavernock point, so I just walked on back to my stash point to recover my clothes and reluctantly get dressed for the walk back to the car and the drive home to call Andi and see what she and Marian had been getting up to.
